Financing for ARCUS Greencycling Technologies
North Channel Bank Supports Innovative Provider for Plastic Recycling
ARCUS is a provider of technical solutions and manufacturer of systems for the recycling of plastic waste according to the realization of the “circular economy” for plastic waste. North Channel Bank provides financing for the construction and operation of the pilot system. “For us, ARCUS is an excellent example of how innovative concepts in plastics recycling can make a valuable contribution to the environment. We are very pleased to be able to support this project,” says Harald Zenke, Managing Director of North Channel Bank.
Economical and Resource Efficient
The supplier of environmental technology develops systems which, unlike others, are able to convert the complete contents of the so-called yellow bags into usable raw material without a preceding, labor-intensive sorting process, which can be reused in the production of plastics (“closed loop recycling management”).
“With our processing systems, we can recover over 90% of plastic waste in form of energy and raw materials. The financing by North Channel Bank enables us to realize our pilot system, which of course makes us very happy”, states Ralf Reichardt, Managing Director of ARCUS Greencycling Technologies GmbH.
Innovative Recycling Facility with Modular Construction System
The system will be built into standard 40-foot containers and will take up relatively little space. The entire system is mobile and flexible and apart from a correspondingly large base plate, no structural measures are necessary. This allows it to be set up directly at buyers or renters premises where it is ready for use in no time.
North Channel Bank GmbH & Co. KG was founded in 1924 as the privately owned bank Bankhaus Oswald Kruber, located in Berlin. In 2009, a group of North American investors with expertise in the US Life Settlement sector acquired the bank and renamed it North Channel Bank. In the following years the bank developed into one of the leading institutes in US Life Settlement financing. 2013 with the acquisition of its affiliate NorthStar Life Services, LLC, Irvine, California the bank gained direct access to and influence on a reliable, experienced, and renowned service provider. Today, in addition to financing, the bank also offers investments in US Life Settlements. In the structured finance division the bank focuses in particular on financing in the renewable energies sector, (especially equity interim financing), capital goods and growth financing.
ARCUS Greencycling Technologies GmbH was founded in 2015. A group of experienced pyrolysis specialists had come together to modify existing pyrolysis techniques for mixed plastic waste and to introduce the idea of an independent system for processing the enormous plastic waste into a sustainable and reusable raw material to the market. Based on the unique knowledge of pyrolysis systems, and their operation, further development of this technology was accomplished together with the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in an exclusive cooperation. In 2016 ARCUS started the development of a new system for mixed plastic waste in a modular and easy to operate five-box system – today’s registered trademark ARCUS Boxsystem®.
