ELSA Conference in London Confirms Growing Interest in Investment in Life Settlements
At this year’s Secondary Life Markets Conference of ELSA (European Life Settlement Association) in London, North Channel Bank was present as a sponsor. The event, which was well attended by around 120 participants, was held on the premises of Ernst & Young. In addition to interesting presentations, there was also the opportunity for bilateral talks and discussions.

Investments in Insurance Linked Securities
“We used the conference as a platform for networking with other international market participants, strengthened our relationships, and established new contacts. During the presentations and subsequent discussions, it became apparent that there was an increased interest in investing in Insurance Linked Securities, especially with a Life Settlements background. This trend confirms our business strategy for our US Life Settlements Division,” says Stefan Rensinghoff, Managing Director of North Channel Bank.
Alternative Investment Management
The Secondary Life Markets Conference covered topics such as Standards in Alternative Investment Management, Meeting Investor Needs through Structuring, and Life Settlement Asset Backed Securities. Other subjects discussed included longevity, the protection of the integrity of Secondary Life Market assets and ELSA’s future activities to promote Secondary Life Markets. The next ELSA conference is scheduled for May 2020.
